Hurry Up Tomorrow

The Weeknd

the take

For an album that's supposedly billed as the last The Weeknd album, it's safe to say Abel Tesfaye went out with a bang on this one. And on his own terms, too, which is unheard of. "Hurry Up Tomorrow" is an album that, to me, has that stadium-like vibe with these songs while still remaining true to the Weeknd's signature style. It's truly the best of both worlds. The production on here as a whole is incredible. The Weeknd incorporated many different styles here and did a great job with each as a whole. Plus it's expected that The Weeknd put his emotions, heart, and soul into each track with his vocals. Aside "Timeless", my personal favorite highlights are "Niagara Falls" and "Cry for Me", to name a few. It kind of begins to fall off around the halfway point, as the second half is a bit inconsistent, even despite having strong tracks on the back half. It should be pointed out that 22 tracks is a bit too much for a grand closing of sorts, even especially for someone like The Weeknd, but this is still one of those albums that it's a must to play from top to bottom to get the full experience. It's like a movie if you think about it. I don't really know what else to add to what everyone else has already said, but if this is the end of The Weeknd as we know it, it was definitely worth it. Can't wait to see what comes next for Abel, though.
