Samurai DX

Lupe Fiasco

the take

I'm going to keep this review a bit brief. This is a great extension to Lupe Fiasco's "Samurai", an album I have kinda high on my top albums of 2024. (Update: it's #? on the list. Yeah, "kinda high". Lmao) The two original tracks on here are easily the best on here, as they both could've fit perfectly with the original edition. Lupe Fiasco never fails to captivate you and grab your attention for the entire duration of a track, whether its his wordplay or the vibe the production gives off. Luv Moore actually killed it on "High Note", and could've been the best on here, but "SOS" is one of those ones. *sighs* And then we have the three remixes, all featuring Troy Taylor. Okay, I think the remixes as a whole are tolerable. Not as good as their original counterparts, but good enough to add new life to the material. But then there's Troy Taylor. It's not that he's terrible by any means, but bro literally added nothing but time duration to the songs he was featured on. It's whatever, though. Still solid as a whole.
