the take
I’m not typically a country music person, but once I could get passed the drinking and smoking references, I grew to really appreciate the music and lyricism of the album. This certainly isn’t your average country music, and it’s written and produced in a way that I can’t quite put my finger on. As SAWGOD Records/Columbia put it, the album is “rock solid, effortlessly country and cleverly poppy.” A few notable tracks include “Choosin’ Texas”, “We Know Us”, and “Be Her”.
