the take
Every now and again, I get into one of those oldies vibes. I stumbled across the group Sunny & The Sunliners via the song "Together" and it made me curious to see what the album said song is on is about. There's something about this project that makes me fall in love with it more and more with each listen. Maybe it's the songwriting about how that narrator navigates through his feelings for a certain someone. That's probably the main reason why I adore these songs because of the relatability factor in my life (to some extent, but still factual). Aside from "Together", other songs that highlight this (as well as my mood, to be honest) are "Cross My Heart" and "I Only Have Eyes for You". Orrr maybe it's the smooth oldies sound each track has. Sunny & The Sunliners succeeded in making an album that's so calm, soothing, and relaxing while not trying to do too much both just in terms of sound and taking the focus off the lyrics. I can't even lie, now I'm wanting to see what the group is about and hope at least some of their other music is on streaming/able to be found online. "Little Brown Eyed Soul" won my heart and attention with ease.
