The Crux Deluxe

Djo

the take

Unlike The Crux, it was not love at first listen. I liked it, don’t get me wrong, but it took me a few listens to really GET IT. I chalk it down to being in the midst of a deep, intense, all-consuming obsession with Nine Inch Nails when this came out. Thank god I came around (relatively quickly, too)… This album is as god tier The Crux. How fortunate are we to have been blessed with TWO phenomenal full length albums from Djo within 5 months?! Again, the 70s influence sounds oh so good on Joe. He’s got that special sauce. RANKING 🌟 1) Purgatory Silverstar 2) T Rex Is Loud 3) Love Can’t Break The Spell 4) Grime of the World 5) Mr. Mountebank 6) Try Me 7) Who You Are 8) They Don’t Know What’s Right 9) Thich Nhat Hanh 10) It’s Over 11) Carry The Name 12) Awake
