the take
CONDUCTOR, WE HAVE A PROBLEM! Maaaan, I've been waiting for this album for a cool minute. If it's not obvious by now, Rome Streetz is easily my favorite rapper on Griselda as of late, with his "KISS THE RING" album being my album of the year for 2022 and "Hatton Garden Holdup" with producer Daringer being in my top 5 albums last year (I believe it was either #3 or #4). Conductor Williams, on the other hand, is a producer I've been a fan of for just as long, as his production is for the most part top-tier for me. So for me to finally get my wish of these two collaborating on a album called "Trainspotting" is a dream come true. Thankfully, this did not disappoint at all. Rome Streetz stays doing Rome Streetz things, as he continues to spit that consistent fire over amazing production. He's so good that he's actually far ahead of almost any beat given to him. Even Conductor Williams' production couldn't keep up. Conductor's beats on here, admittedly, can and do sound a bit more repetitious than usual, which may be why songs like "Blood in Boogers" isn't held in higher regard for me (still a good track, though). BUT repetition may be the reason why "10 Toes", "Connie's Revenge" and "Heartbreaker" are three of the best tracks on the album, plus it helps that they are back-to-back-to-back (in a different order than how I listed it, though). It might not be my 2025 rap album of the year, but #2 is pretty damn good to me.
