the take
I see the idea of having 2 sides for their 2 main vibes throughout their career but it kinda falls flat with the quality of both sides. The first “hip-hop, rap” half is just really not it. The production is all over the place in a bad way, they are good rappers but there the delivery the lyrics are just goofy, it’s a shame knowing their past hip hop driven albums during their debut times that were actually really good. Here it feels like they’re trying too much it just doesn’t work besides for their fans which is fine i guess. The other half more pop sounding is just really flat and boring honestly, it’s not bad per say just really pop radio friendly it’s feels really coldplayish not a real identity it could be anyone singing it it wouldn’t change a thing. Overall it’s an album for their fans, mixing their main old strengths into one wishing to be cathartic album, but ends up just underwhelming. It’s sad for an album with this expectation to just have the least interesting music of their discography.
wouldn’t listen again
