DAYGO TO FLINT

Kt Foreign

the take

Originally my first review of 2026 and I never would've guessed it would be a Michigan rap project. But everything is uncertain at this point. At the same time, I was kind of excited for it because I enjoyed Rio da Yung OG's "RIO FREE" project from last year more than expected. So to see a new release by him is great to see. A collab with KT Foreign, this brief EP has the two rappers over the Michigan sound (I'm not well versed in this, but the Flint sound, more specifically?). As expected, Rio does a solid job with his verses. Sure, it's pretty much like every other verse I've listened to by him at this point, but his flow matches the energy the beats provided on here. As for KT Foreign, though not terrible by any means, to me he kind of fails to match the energy that Rio displays on the tracks. I can't really fault him, though; partially because he's from San Diego, also partially because I don't know his other music to give a fair shake on just yet. The only time where I felt KT Foreign reached his full potential is on the song "Assets", which also happens to be my favorite track on this EP. As for the beats, they're the standard regional sound you'd expect to hear from Rio. Basically, if you hate it, you probably still would; if you like it (like myself), you'd at least give this a chance. "DAYGO TO FLINT" isn't anything to write home about, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't decent enough to listen to.
