the take
Whereas Engelbert’s debut album “Release Me” has a very safe sound to it, not too extravagant and not too boring, “The Last Waltz” is really the first time we get to hear him go the extra mile on a few tracks, primarily “The Last Waltz”, “Two Different Worlds”, and “Walk Hand In Hand”. The orchestra, band, and Engelbert’s own vocals are much more prominent here, creating a much grander sound, something his music would utilize much more of later on in his career.
