the take
I’m a hardcore guy through and through, but this post stuff is actually unreal. It’s very influential, I hear it’s sound in many rocks bands today (Squid, Turnstile, etc.). Each track flows into another really well. Lyrically, it’s cryptic and confrontational Cedric delivers surreal, fragmented imagery that feels politically charged and emotionally urgent without ever spelling itself out. The words hit more like force than meaning, which suits the record’s intensity. The musicianship is where the album truly thrives. Angular riffs, relentless drumming, and sudden rhythmic pivots give the songs a sense of constant forward momentum, like they might collapse at any second but never do. The interplay between precision and disorder is electrifying. It feels like a document of pressure beneath the surface. It’s not a narrative album, but it carries a unifying sense of tension that makes it feel whole. It’s a good record, but the second half really blows the first out of the water.
