the take
Another One is a mini LP of Mac from 2015, for me is his best work because this is his last album that keeps that “Mac sound” that became so popular, that picking he makes on the guitar by using just two notes, but it’s not flat like in Rock n roll night club, he’s really confident here. In this album he also uses a very warm piano in every song that it’s the base from each one. Very sad album, every song talks about a different situation of disappointment in love: Loving someone who already has a boyfriend, loving someone who already turn you down, feel that your couple it’s cheating on you, so yeah, that’s the vibe of the album. The music feels like the album cover, not everyone achieves that. It’s short, yes, but that makes that all the songs feel natural, like they are meant to be there. This is an album for everyone, simple but deep lyrics, catchy choruses, relaxing. It’s not a masterpiece in the music world, any mac’s album is, but that’s the magic, he makes music for people, and this is his sweetest work.
