the take
Favorite Song: Points of Authority Least Favorite Song: N/A A debut album with no skips is rare. A genre defining album that completely captures what LINKIN PARK is and always will be. The raw vocals from Chester Bennington pairs well with the R&B of Mike Shinoda. Masterful musical writing by Shinoda as well with emotion built into each and every chord. Points of Authority: By far my favorite song of the album (step aside In the End) for several reasons. The aspect of this song that captured my attention was the Dropped Fifth bass featured in the song. The low bass line immediately peaked my interest and begged a second listen on my initial spin of the album. The overwhelming presence of the bass is to this day incredible. The unique main riff as well. I would love to hear the original riff Shinoda made before running it through a program and mixing it up. A main riff that features no audible strumming? Yes please!
