the take
This review will be brief and will only center on the extra track "Maybe, Finally", as my opinion on the rest of the album is still the same as it was before this bonus track's addition. If you ask me, "Maybe, Finally" kind of sounds out of place when compared to the rest of dodie's "Not for Lack of Trying"... but still somehow works in the grand scheme of things. That's probably why I find myself enjoying it more with each listen, as I begin to imagine myself in her shoes and begin to understand why she feels how she feels. The songwriting and the instrumentation both go hand in hand on here to create something that's really impressionable (to me, that is). If there are more additional tracks to be included in the deluxe in the near future that sounds like "Maybe, Finally", then I'm in for a treat.
