the take
Nashville’s Drew Regan has made an impossible-to-ignore debut with again, again, an impressive 6-track project that effortlessly blends raw emotion, edgy textures, and catchy hooks. Drew embraces vulnerability throughout the EP’s lyrical storytelling, exploring themes of yearning and self-destruction in a way that makes feeling it all seem not just acceptable, but cool. Each song on again, again contains an interesting mixture of nostalgia and anticipation, bringing revitalized energy and polished electronic layers to a familiar pop-rock realm. A shining spotlight on Drew’s abilities as both a songwriter and producer, this EP genuinely captured my attention upon its very first note, as I’m sure it will for all who choose to listen.
