I was caught very much off my guard when I heard the quality of the instrumentation here. Really deep bass behind a string ensemble and some really groovy, “cool” rhythm guitar and picking. Engelbert’s vocals are essentially a 10/10 for being a whopping 90 years old (next month) and the lyrics, while not extremely poetic, tell a decent story within the music. I had to deduct a point however because of the, let’s just say, sub-par cover art.
