the take
What I find wild is how these are considered throwaways. And yet JID still gifted us this EP like it's Christmas. Aside from the Eminem-assisted track, I fuck with this collection pretty heavy. JID is back and it's like he didn't even miss a beat in the time between this and "The Forever Story". JID's wordplay and lyricism are top tier as always, and features like Lil Yachty and 6LACK somehow complimented JID's vision nicely. Especially Lil Boat, one who I didn't think would succeed as much like he did on his appearance on "Knew Better" but went the fuck off. Because this is a preview of sorts, I don't really have much else to add. For me, this "preluxe" serves as a worthy appetizer for the main album.
