the take
I'd be lying if I said I disliked Rebecca Black's latest project. Because holy shit, it's much better than I thought. A part of me can't help but get Charli xcx "BRAT"-era vibes with this, but that doesn't make "SALVATION" any unlistenable for me. In actuality, this makes me wanna dance to this just as much as I vibe to "BRAT". Rebecca shows how much more energetic and confident on here and did so in a way that makes this an enticing listen. Add that with how he uses her vocals over the production and you get a short, concise body of work that really has no misses. The peak of this album occurs from "TRUST!" to "American Doll", but overall it's such a fun listen. And not gonna lie, I can't help but act like this music fits as runway music for Fashion Week.
