the take
When it comes to 310babii's debut album... there's really not much difference between this and "nights and weekends" in terms of sound. Of course, you shouldn't expect a teenager who just recently graduated high school to switch up his sound so soon after blowing up with "soak city (do it)", so I'll cut 310babii some slack. I say that to say, this is a slightly more unpolished version of his second album. There aren't exactly any bad songs on here, but there's like maybe one or two that caught my attention quite quickly. The subject matter is limited, and the choice of production does get repetitive, although there are times that the latter shines. From a lyrical standpoint, you can just forget it and write this one off; but when it comes to a California party standpoint, this is one of those albums you can put on from top to bottom and it's a great musical backdrop for a good time.
