the take
This album was my first introduction to the band and it seems unfair to judge them based off of a first lesson as this seems like an album man band you have to sit with to get the whole picture. As far as instrumentation goes, it was a strange blend and meshing of lines I believe there’s a saxophone present, but they also blended it with the sound of a human voice, which was really cool. Stand out tracks include obsidian. As first attracted to this album as it seemed very sci-fi oriented also to be noted. It seems that the rhythm section is the ones driving the boat in this album. You have a very funky progressive Drummer met with a funky precise basis, whose tones are absolutely monstrous and a highlight of this album.
