Phonetics On and On

Horsegirl

the take

This album was recommended to me to check out, and I'm kind of glad I did. Even though I don't listen to indie rock very often, I enjoyed what I heard on here from Chicago trio Horsegirl. Sonically speaking, the songs on here doesn't overpower everything else; the instrumentation provides the good vibes throughout. As for the songwriting, it's a bit on the simplistic side of things, but with the vocals being a slight gentle contrast to the musical backdrops, it helps make this album chill and fun for the listener (like myself) to digest. The only slight downside of "Phonetics On and On" is that it could come off as one long song with little to no differences in its sound, but if you're one who really likes it, that shouldn't be an issue. I don't really have any harsh criticisms of Horsegirl's "Phonetics On and On"; I WILL say I enjoyed this project more than I anticipated. Here's to hoping their discography is as good as this.
