Jupiter

Nao

the take

NAO is an artist I was really into before Covid shut down the world. Like, 2018 and early-2019 era. However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't forget about NAO between 2020 and now. I guess the good thing to point out is that apparently it's been four years since NAO's last release. I've read online how some people believe NAO retained the same sound since her "Saturn"-era. While I can't confirm or deny the accuracy of that belief, I still find myself enjoying this album a bit more than others. The production on "Jupiter" is just incredible to digest, as such compositions kept me guessing what's next. It helps bring out NAO's emotions with ease, with each track helping to get their point across to the listener. "Light Years" is a perfect representation of that. Of course, how can I forget NAO's vocals and the songwriting on here? Those two qualities help make this album a consistent vibe from top to bottom. While the first half is slightly better than the second, it's still a treat to be able to listen to this concise album from top to bottom and stay in the album's universe. Damn, I might need to run back NAO's earlier albums for old time's sake.
