Bridge Kard Blessings

Sada Baby

the take

Before recently, the only music I've listened to by Sada Baby is his "SkuBop" album and his song "Whole Lotta Choppas" (the latter back in 2020). Up to this point, I found said album decent enough to vibe to with a couple of bangers that has stayed on repeat at times on my playlists, so in my mind it's only right I decide to give his first offering of 2025 a listen and see if it's at least just as good. I kind of set myself up for disappointment by having even the slightest bit of expectations with "Bridge Kard Blessings", though. It's not terrible, but it's not great. It just... kind of generally exists? I don't even know how to describe my feelings on "Bridge Kard Blessings". The beats on here is essentially what one would expect to be used by a Detroit rapper who is synonymous with the state's (Michigan) recently popular production style. Aside from a few vocal experiments Sada Baby implements throughout, you still get the same energy provided by Sada Baby. Some of the end results of that are a couple of small bright spots on here, such as "DT Voice" and "2k24", the latter being my favorite on here. So why didn't this click as much as I thought it would? For a while after finishing this, a part of me wondered if I did not just understand it. If that's the case, then I wouldn't have liked Sada Baby's music I've checked out in the past. Saba Baby's overall rapping performance on here is forgettable to where I tried to become interested but ended up being disappointed. "Bridge Kard Blessings" may have some bright spots on here, but it's not enough to change the fact that this is overwhelmingly average as a whole.
