Vol.II

Angine de Poitrine

the take

I gotta say I was worried their sound would become formulaic, but I never should have doubted these alien freaks. The A-Side is another solid execution of what we've come to love and expect from the band, featuring more prominent muppet-esque vocals. But personally the B-Side is where this shines. It has a strange and goofy feel, as if you're in a funhouse mirror in some demented carnival. I find it hard to imagine these two not wearing a cheeky smile at the beginning of "Utzp" or during the middle section of "Yor Sarad" They are mad geniuses and they know it, managing to make me chuckle and following it up with a shredding guitar solo. Several times throughout this volume they lead you down a certain path before halting you in another direction, proving that they will likely always have a trick or two up their polka-dotted sleeves.
