Amazing album holy. Shout out Mel for the put on. I didn’t even know what a royel and an Otis was before her. Shout out discover weekly for showing me torn jeans as well. I love the lead singers voice. It’s boyish and rough around the edges and sounds so raw and emotional and certain points. But it’s also so polished and airy when it needs to be. The guitar never overpowers the vocals but complements them to perfection. There’s no solos but the guitar allows the album to sound funky, rock-heavy, and psychedelic all at different points throughout the album. I can’t wait to relisten. Standouts are torn jeans, more to lose, (“we say goodbye when it’s just not true”) shut up, dancing with myself, and who’s your boyfriend. But all of them are amazing.
