Sinners Club

Danny Towers

the take

Danny Towers is one of those rappers who I learned how to tolerate. Like, I like some of his songs, but not to where I'll blast them loud wherever I go. On the flipside, I don't hate him to the point where he's the worst rapper alive. He's just decent enough, right? Can't hate him at all for pursuing music, and safe to say it's working out for him. That said, I didn't expect him to come out with a Latin album at all. And I still don't know how to feel about this. I mean, the beat selection is cool given the musical subtext of the album. I've heard worse in this realm before, but I still can't help but think that these beats were really the only saving grace for this. Danny Towers himself embraces his Latino roots proudly, which is an amazing thing to see for once. However... he's the reason most of the material on here is below run-of-the-mill for me. I can't really deal with Danny's Auto-Tuned rap-singing the whole time, as his natural voice still somehow shows itself and proves to be out of place with the music. It's ear-grating for me and the main reason why I can't vibe with this. Sad for me to say, if it was any other Latin artist performing Danny's parts on this, this would be slightly better. And while I respect Danny Towers for attempting something a bit different for his fans, I'm still more a fan of his typical SoundCloud-rap-adjacent songs.
