I ran to rewatch this performance after learning about the background context of Nina’s life at the time and oh my god did I cry. I mean -don’t get me wrong - if you have a heart you will cry anyway, even without knowing. But oh my god, it was a whole other level. Nina Simone was on a whole other level.
