the take
After listening to the slightly-depressingly average project that's "ALL BUT 6", I kind of had little to no expectations for "VOL. 2" to be any better. I'm glad I was proven wrong because this is an improvement. The production on here was much more refined on here to the point where only one song is just okay, and it's really also because of the vocal performances dragged the song down as well. The phonk sound that has seen a wave of resurgence for the last few years or so is evident here more often than not, and it actually worked out for everyone on the album. "PUSHING SKULLS BACK" is the one I pick for myself as not only a daily go-to, but also a go-to for a moshpit (should I ever decide to willingly go back into one). If ALL BUT 6 does make a third installment to their self-titled series (update: I just discovered they did), they should just keep doing what they're doing like they did with this one.
