Since I have little knowledge of country music, I was unfamiliar with Bill Lloyd's reputation within the genre. After spotting this album and looking him up, a power pop record was the last thing I expected. However, Lloyd proves to be a master of the craft. This compilation provides tracks heavily reminiscent of the Dwight Twilley Band, Big Star and even Game Theory. From start to finish, Feeling the Elephant is absolute ear candy!
