the take
Minimalism is the entire concept here, and at times it works, but that same restraint often slips into monotony. The lyrics aim for emotional ambiguity and vulnerability, yet they rarely cut deep, circling familiar ideas of longing and distance without much specificity or evolution. Musically, there’s a clear aesthetic vision but the lack of dynamic variation makes many tracks blur together. What initially feels hypnotic gradually becomes static. There are moments of genuine beauty, but as a full album experience, it feels more like a mood stretched too thin than a fully realized statement. Fav Track Islands
