Stress: The Extinction Agenda

Organized Konfusion

the take

From what I've been seeing online, Organized Konfusion's second album is pretty damn good. Like, borderline classic status. It has everything a classic rap album should have, right? So why was this slightly underwhelming to me? As a fan of 90's rap to the core, I know I'll piss some people off when I say that this album is slightly OVERRATED. It's crazy though because there's no denying that the two rappers display great lyricism and wordplay the entire time at an incredibly high level. The production, while having some slight mixed results, is fucking incredible with the jazz samples and boom bap sound. It checks off all the boxes on what I love from a rap album from this era. The problem is... it just didn't stick with me. Like it just came and went. Save for a few tracks like "The Extinction Agenda", "Maintain", and my personal favorite "Why", it was one of those albums where I had a hard time even thinking of running back each song. I don't know. Maybe I'll give it a re-listen in the future to see if I'm missing something. It's still a good project, but as of now I'm struggling to see the "classic" status everyone else is claiming.
