the take
It might be wild of me to say, but I think I might be into bro-country. At least, only slightly, because that's what this Luke Bryan album is. I'll admit that musically speaking, this album is nothing to write home about... Okay, I'm being honest, this album isn't really that good. But still, I found myself enjoying it more than I thought it would. When it comes to the songwriting on here, it's really all just surface-level. As in, it's not anything that's deep or to make you think at all. The tracks on here really revolve around getting drunk, kissing girls, and driving trucks in the countryside. Nothing too crazy, but somehow it works really well when provided the complimenting instrumentation. As an outsider, I fail to understand why there's so much hate in country pop albums like this one because this subgenre is one that's easily accessible for me to help understand country from a slightly-distant lens.
