the take
This album doesn’t have the best songs of all time, which is the only reason that this isn’t a full 10/10. There is no other flaw to this album. An amazing, interwoven tracklist, full of high quality pop music. At times, it’s more “poppy” with songs like “Image” or “Love is Everywhere”. And at times, it can have a more abrasive sound like “That’s My Floor”. The way this album switches between pop-heavy sounds, to rock-heavy sound, to electrico sounds, is spectacular. A sonic landscape that is extraordinary with alien-like vocals that are supernatural, the sound of this album is key. Magdalena Bay has stapled their case for being of the best pop acts of the 2020s with this album.
