Besides Hamilton, which has its own unique style, this was among the first musicals I’ve given a listen to. The orchestra and band is very impressive and makes for some very grand and slick instrumentals behind equally as impressive vocalists, especially Emmy Rossum, who plays the character Christine at just 17 years old. I’ve really only knocked off a few points because Gerard Butler, who plays the Phantom, can sound pretty creepy and uneasy at times, although I suppose that is the point of his character.
