I'm not that much into Opium all too much nowadays. Hell, I'd say I wasn't into them all too much back in 2021/2022 also. Ken Carson was decent at first, and Destroy Lonely's was one I can never really invest myself into. Homixide Gang (consisting of Homixide Beno! & Homixide Meechie), on the other hand, released something that actually caught my attention. "SNOTTY WORLD" is the duo's debut EP released to the world, though it's crazy that an EP is just under nine minutes. By the time I get fully acquainted with it, the project is already over. Safe to say the project's runtime is what made this project take a huge blow. Because other than that, I genuinely mess with these collection of songs, and always have. I'm lowkey an advocate of gangsta rap lyrics over rage production and "SNOTTY WORLD" is really the main reason for that. I mean, yeah, Meechie & Beno! aren't really saying new that I haven't heard before, but they give off that energy that they're hungry and are very intimidating to their opps over space-y, aggressive beats that works in their favor more often than not. "SNOTTY WAX!" and "VIBES!" still has me in a chokehold like they did back when I discovered this. "SNOTTY WORLD" is definitely a debut EP that is a bit rough around the edges, but still makes for an entertaining listen for myself.
