the take
This feels like a band stretching toward something vast and inward at the same time. The lyrics are impressionistic and distant, circling themes of disconnection, memory, and emotional decay without ever fully resolving them. They can be elusive, sometimes frustratingly so, but that ambiguity suits the record’s atmosphere. Musically, it’s where the album really earns its weight. The band expands beyond their post-hardcore roots into long, drifting passages, layering feedback, strings, and hypnotic rhythms. At times, though, that sprawl works against them, with certain stretches feeling more meandering than meditative. As a concept, it plays like a dissolution. It’s cohesive in tone, almost oppressively so, but that consistency can blur individual tracks together. Still, there’s something admirable in how fully it commits to its vision. It may not always land, but it lingers. Fav Track October All Over
