the take
I thought that some reviews were being a little dramatic, but like, this wasn’t really anything to write home about. I thought it might be unfair to compare it to Golden Hour, but I got a couple songs in and realized that it needed to be compared to it. I don’t understand how the same person could have written both of those albums. The lyrics in this were so corny and upsetting and just bad. I was waiting on a good story or something and it never came. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Rhinestoned. The music of that was good, and the vibe as a whole just felt like Kacey to me. Mexico Honey is my least favorite. I like the songs that have the sort of western feel, but other than that this album fell so flat for me.
