the take
Honestly, I'm only revisiting this project due to the deluxe adding seven extra tracks at the end. The extra tracks aren't really anything special and doesn't really add anything new to Ken Carson's sound on this album (doubt that was ever the goal but okay), but as a collection, they're okay. Kind of forgettable when it's all said and done, though. Save for "ss" and "toxic" to an extent, while I'm not too keen on them, I can definitely see why people would enjoy this. That said, I must point out that a lot of these songs I thought were good grew off on me quite a bit between when I first reviewed this until now. They're just "average" to me now, but not bad enough for me to consider "A Great Chaos" terrible. It's still mid as fuck, though... with or without the bonus tracks included.
