the take
Though I've listened to music by Shoreline Mafia for the past 6 years, I haven't listened to much of any solo members' projects. Hell, the only song I've listened to l from an individual member is OHGEESY's "GEEKALEEK". Even with that song sounding different from what he's known for with Shoreline Mafia, I had some hopes with this one being at least good. Even with "Paid N Full" being a mixed bag for me, I still consider this album good... but by a sliiiim margin. It's crazy because I'm a fan of the West Coast sound. (Those who know me really know how much I fuck with the sound HEAVY.) I know OHGEESY is one to create those party songs, which he does do... though a couple only really stick that landing. Some tracks, such as "HEAT STICK" and "Wet" were instant favorites, though I might be sure it's because of OHGEESY reuniting with Fenix Flexin. The rest of the album is either just good or average at worst, but unfortunately not being all too memorable at the end of the day. That said, I do command OHGEESY for experimenting with styles new to him, even though the end results are mixed. Like I said, "Paid N Full" is a good album... but it barely makes the threshold.
