The band were formed in 2019 after meeting at film school. Influenced by their love of film and Belfast's emerging dance scene, Chalk's soundscape is comprised of wailing guitars, a relentless rhythm section, and a raw, visceral spoken-word vocal style. \n \nChalk's songwriting is image-driven, influenced by their filmmaking roots. Their visual style (as seen in their self-made music videos) interweaves with their sound in an evocative fashion.
