In the late '70s, Beth Carvalho and her producer Rildo Hora (who would be the group's producer) invited the Fundo de Quintal to be supporting musicians for the album Pé No Chão. The founders were Almir Guineto, Jorge Aragão, Neoci, Sereno, Sombrinha, Ubirajara (Bira Presidente), and Ubirany. Arlindo Cruz and Valter 7 Cordas joined as musicians of the early formations.
