Keep It Movin'
“It took me about four attempts to get through this album, which is crazy because I enjoyed Ill Al Skratch's debut "Creep Wit' Me". I've always had a feeling that "Keep It Movin'" wouldn't be as good, but it still holds up on its own. One thing I had a difficult time trying to grasp is the fact that their flows that already sound dated by 1997 didn't match the beats they were given. It's evident with the first five tracks or so. The production was more in tune with 1997 trends/styles, while Big Ill and Al Skratch didn't always succeed in matching the sound. As such, we have "Me & the Click" and "Yeah 1, 2" being at the bottom for me, while other tracks near the aforementioned two is decent enough. If anything, the best part of "Keep It Movin'" is from "Stick-N-Move" until the end. It's from here where the beats given here doesn't sound too futuristic and implements more of the vibes that were captured on the duo's debut, which ends up having consistent tracks be on repeat for me. Plus the duo actually sounds more comfortable in this lane and it shows. It's hard to pick a favorite, but "Get Your Swerve On" and "Gamin'" are my top two. Ill Al Skratch weren't designed to last long, and it's a shame how their sophomore album came and went. In its official form, it's actually a good project. Take out the majority of the first five tracks and keep the rest, and you have an album that could rival "Creep Wit' Me".”
