The Big Bang sound combined swinging Latin jazz rhythms with bright keyboard melodies and soulful vocals, and was often categorized as "broken beat" or "nu-jazz." Serritella's first single as Big Bang, "Dribbling"/"Colours," arrived on U.K. label Far Out Recordings in 2000. Early in 2001, Serritella founded the Arision label, which released the majority of his subsequent recordings. Debut full-length Arriving Soon appeared in 2002, along with 12" singles "Higher" and "Pressure." The remix collection Rework Project followed in 2004, containing mixes by 4hero, IG Culture, and Domu. A pair of 2005 singles, "Smile in Your Eyes" and "Sweet y Sour," preceded second proper album Way in Jazz, which appeared in 2006 along with another remix collection, Essential Selection.
