Since launching their debut album Nocturnal Gates, Freedom of Fear have earned their reputation as one of Australia’s tightest and most engaging live metal acts. Honing their musicianship through touring with Fleshgod Apocalypse and supporting heavyweights such as Thy Art Is Murder, Jinjer, Soilwork, Obituary, Obscura, The Black Dahlia Murder and playing many festivals around the country, the Adelaide band have steadily risen to prominence in the Australian metal scene. In 2022 Freedom of Fear released their critically acclaimed second album Carpathia, which debuted at #3 on the AIR Independent charts and garnered significant attention from the global metal community. Not limited by the borders of down under, ‘Carpathia’ features legendary drummer Hannes Grossmann (ex-Necrophagist, Obscura), in addition to mixing by V. Santura (Triptykon, ex-Celtic Frost), both hailing from faraway Germany. More recently, Freedom of Fear were the first ever metal band to perform at the prestigious Adelaide Guitar Festival.
