Oli Chang and Jack Milas started the band in 2010 and issued an eponymous EP via Rocket Records in 2011. Their songs were quickly licensed for advertisements and film, including the 2012 musical comedy Pitch Perfect, which featured their song "Open Season." The song was also included on High Highs' debut full-length Open Season, which arrived on Fine Time/Sony in early 2013. The band soon earned support slots on tours for the likes of Vampire Weekend, How to Dress Well, and Empire of the Sun.
