the take
At this point, "Volume 3" is literally more of the same as previous mixtapes. There are great songs on here, but the average number on tracks that I'd have on repeat dramatically decreased with this one. "Rotten Tooth Grin" is the clear highlight here, but overall "Volume 3" is a rollercoaster ranging from good to amazing and repeating. While Baker Ya Maker and Hydra's flow on here isn't as effective on here like on previous projects, but they're still tolerable. And when it comes to Tenngage, his production on here seems to heavily lean more towards the sampling of horror film scores than before. To me, it doesn't always land for me, but it's still great enough to where I can't help but be amazed about how innovative he's becoming in real time. Amazing project if listened to from top to bottom, but that's about it for me.
